What do people do after work with Zivile Einikyte

Zivile Einikyte is a creator, events, and podcast host at The Perception Paradox.

What do people do after work goes hand in hand with staying mentally happy while taking steps towards your dream career. Life is about finding a sweet balance between everyday efforts and fun experiences that help us grow and be happier.

We asked Živilė what are her favorite activities to do after work, what hobbies she has, and how they fulfill her work-life balance.

-what do people do?: ”What are your hobbies? How did you discover them?”

Živilė Einikytė: “One of my main passions is water sports, particularly (kite)surfing — a childhood dream that became a reality about ten years ago in Lithuania. This journey began with the Board Sports Chicks community, initiated by my friend Agnė Simanskytė. It was love at first sight with water sports, and this passion continues to thrive.

Since moving to Copenhagen, Denmark, martial arts and road biking have also become integral parts of my life. Along with these, I ensure to maintain my daily yoga practice and reading routine, and I always seek opportunities for a game of tennis. My approach to discovering these hobbies has always been driven by curiosity and a 'beginner's mind' — an openness to try new things and commit to them if they resonate with me.

These activities are more than just hobbies; they are disciplines that instill resilience and focus, pushing personal boundaries and providing both physical challenges and mental clarity.”

Ultimately, these hobbies do more than offer leisure; they shape my life and work ethos.

-what do people do?: “How does it fulfill your work-life balance? Does it make you develop any skills/qualities that help you beat the odds in your personal and professional life?”

Živilė Einikytė: “Engaging in my hobbies is akin to sparking joy in my life, reinforcing the belief that life should be a playground of passions. These activities are crucial for maintaining my energy, aiding relaxation, and keeping my focus sharp.

Frequent traveling demands adaptability, which is where maintaining a consistent routine and active lifestyle, facilitated by apps like ClassPass, becomes vital. This practice not only helps balance my workload but also instills discipline. It opens avenues for networking with individuals who share similar interests, fostering both personal and professional connections.

Ultimately, these hobbies do more than offer leisure; they shape my life and work ethos, enhancing skills like time management, resilience, and relationship-building. They also keep my mind agile, adapting seamlessly to different locations and situations. And it simply makes me happy!”
